These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Lions Den member platform and the newarksealions.com website, operated by NUWR Sea Lions ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Lions Den, you agree to these terms.

1. Eligibility

Lions Den is a private platform for members and prospective members of NUWR Sea Lions. By registering, you confirm that:

You are 18 years of age or older
The information you provide during registration is accurate and complete
You will maintain the confidentiality of your account password

2. Membership & Subscriptions

Lions Den membership plans are subscription-based and billed on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. By subscribing you authorize NUWR Sea Lions to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the rate of your selected plan.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date
You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade your plan at any time through the Billing section of your dashboard
Plan changes take effect immediately. Downgrades do not result in partial refunds for the current billing period
Annual plans are billed in full at the start of each annual period

3. Refund Policy

NUWR Sea Lions does not offer automatic refunds on membership subscriptions. If you believe a refund is warranted — for example, due to a billing error, extenuating circumstances, or a dispute — you must submit your case directly to the acting Treasurer of NUWR Sea Lions. The Treasurer will review your case and has sole discretion to determine whether a refund is appropriate. Refund requests can be submitted by emailing nuwrlions@gmail.com with the subject line "Refund Request."

4. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Billing section of your Lions Den dashboard. Upon cancellation:

Your access remains active until the end of the current billing period
You will not be charged again after cancellation
No partial refunds are issued for unused time in the current billing period, subject to the Refund Policy above

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Share your account credentials with others
Use Lions Den for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform
Upload or submit any content that is harmful, offensive, or violates the rights of others
Interfere with the proper functioning of the platform

NUWR Sea Lions reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms.

6. Platform Access

Lions Den is provided on an "as is" basis. We strive to maintain uptime and reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the platform at any time with or without notice.

7. Points & Leaderboard

Points are awarded at the discretion of club administrators based on attendance, performance, and other criteria determined by club leadership. Points have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and may be adjusted or reset at the discretion of NUWR Sea Lions administration.

8. Video Submissions

When the video submission feature becomes available, by submitting a video through Lions Den you grant NUWR Sea Lions a non-exclusive license to display and use that video for internal club purposes, including coach review, highlights, and club promotion. You retain ownership of your content.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NUWR Sea Lions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Lions Den or participation in club activities. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid in membership fees in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Essex County, New Jersey.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Lions Den after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
