NUWR Sea Lions ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Lions Den member platform and the newarksealions.com website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account or use Lions Den, we collect the following:

Account information — your full name and email address
Profile information — your callsign (chosen by you)
Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card number, expiration date, or CVV on our servers at any time
Usage data — which sections of the app you visit, session frequency, and general engagement patterns, collected via Umami Analytics
Check-in records — attendance history for practices you check into through the app
Points and leaderboard activity — points awarded by club administrators and your position on the leaderboard

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate and maintain your Lions Den account
To process your membership subscription payments through Stripe
To track practice attendance and award points
To display your ranking on the club leaderboard
To send you important account notifications (subscription confirmations, cancellations)
To understand how members use the platform so we can improve it
To communicate club announcements and updates

3. Analytics

We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how visitors use our website and app. Umami does not use cookies, does not track users across websites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. All analytics data is anonymized. We use this data internally to improve the platform and member experience. It is never sold or shared with third parties.

4. Payment Processing

All payment transactions are handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. When you enter payment information, it is transmitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection. NUWR Sea Lions never sees or stores your full card details. You can review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Stripe — to process payments and manage subscriptions
Supabase — our database provider, where account and membership data is securely stored
Brevo — our email delivery service, used to send account notifications
Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our club and members

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your membership is active. If you cancel your membership and request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or financial record-keeping purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and associated data
Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase, and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Lions Den is intended for adults participating in the sport of underwater rugby. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Lions Den after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
